2018年11月2日，原告中包括了21位从11～22岁的年轻人，状告美国政府因不能防范危险的气候变化而侵害了法律赋予他们的生命、自由和财产权利，美国最高法院立案受理，从而被更多的人关注，一些当事人发声解释该案原告的诉求和态度。
